Royal Canadian Air Cadets

Royal Canadian Air Cadets participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities. There is something for everyone – no matter what their personal interests may be. The outdoor enthusiast will appreciate learning survival skills for flight crew. The athlete will appreciate physical education and recreation, including a variety of sporting activities like biathlon and Olympic-style marksmanship. The artists will find their niche in the music program.

The curious will appreciate the hands-on activities such as building model aircraft. The scholarly will appreciate an introduction to the various tools and technologies linked to aviation. The dreamers will appreciate the evolution of technology and the advancements of the aerospace era, including the importance of Canadian participation.

Select top senior cadets may even earn the chance to represent Canada on the world stage by participating in an international exchange.

Most importantly, Air Cadets aids in developing knowledge of Canadian history and democracy. The cadet program focuses on social development, decision-making and leadership. As cadets acquire skills and knowledge, they pass it along to younger cadets.

Every cadet will have the chance to participate in flight activities, and some top senior cadets may even earn a scholarship to obtain their private pilot’s licence. Whether earning a glider pilot licence or private pilot licence, these cadets wear their wings with a pride rarely found in today’s youth.

Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre

Founded in 1932, at Lexington field in North Waterloo, the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) is deeply rooted in the Waterloo region.  With its beginnings as a flying club, WWFC has continued to grow over the years, including being the driving force behind the development of the Waterloo Airport in its current location in 1950. WWFC managed the airport for over 20 years.

Today WWFC is proud to offer a state of the art facility, is partnered with two prestigious post-secondary institutions – offering industry recognized training to individuals seeking a career in aviation and still strongly supports the general aviator, training over 50 private pilots annually.

The Waterloo Wellington is a not-for-profit corporation and is governed by an eight-member volunteer board of directors who oversee the long term development and operation of WWFC and its programs.

Genesis Flight College

Genesis Flight College is a registered Private Career College located at the Collingwood Regional Airport. Through its affiliated holding company, Genesis owns the real estate and all the buildings on the field in which it operates.

Our students expect knowledgeable, highly trained professionals, premium training facilities, and an array of amenities. The facilities, flight training professionals and equipment at Genesis offer a breadth of services unmatched in the GTA to Georgian Bay region.

The most significant advantage of our program is that 100% of the flying is in advanced aircraft (DA40 and DA42). Our program is designed to prepare you for direct entry into a commercial flying job with expert-level knowledge of the advanced systems of the DA40 and DA42 platform.

Collingwood and Blue Mountain is a resort town and there are many accommodation options in the area. If you like to ski or enjoy water sports then this is the best place in Canada for being in college! We also have new accommodations being built at the airport, which will be ready in the summer of 2018.
